This extraordinary piece, formed over 40 million years ago from the resin of ancient pine trees, contains a fossil Stonefly (Plecoptera), the exceptionally rare Scorpionfly (Mecoptera, Panorpidae), fragments of moss and other flora, as well as gnats and other Diptera insects—all perfectly preserved within the amber.
